Staff learn how to put together a realistic income and expenditure with someone, spot pressure points, and support people whose income changes from month to month.
Debt Awareness: The Basics
Recognising financial difficulty and when to refer.
Staff learn the signs that someone is struggling, why priority debts such as rent and council tax come first, what enforcement and bailiff letters mean, and when to refer for specialist advice.
Introduction to Welfare Benefits
An overview of the main benefits and how to check entitlement.
Staff learn how Universal Credit works, Council Tax Reduction and Discretionary Housing Payments, carrying out a basic benefit check, and the mandatory reconsideration route when a decision goes wrong.
Understanding Disability Benefits
How disability benefits work and how to support someone through a claim.
Staff learn Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance and Child Disability Living Allowance, how assessments work, gathering supporting evidence, and the basics of reconsiderations and appeals.

What does debt awareness training cover?
Debt Awareness: The Basics helps frontline staff recognise when someone is struggling with money, understand why priority debts such as rent and council tax come first, make sense of enforcement and bailiff letters, and know when to refer for specialist debt advice.
What does welfare benefits training cover?
Introduction to Welfare Benefits gives staff an overview of Universal Credit, Council Tax Reduction and Discretionary Housing Payments, and how to carry out a basic benefit check. Understanding Disability Benefits covers Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance and Child Disability Living Allowance, including assessments and reconsiderations.
Does the training qualify staff to give debt advice?
No. Training is information and education. Regulated debt advice can only be given by an FCA-authorised organisation. The courses help staff spot problems early, support people practically and refer to specialist advice at the right time.
Can training be delivered online?
Yes. Courses can be delivered live on Zoom or Teams, or in person at your venue, anywhere in the UK.
Can courses be tailored to our team?
Yes. Any course can be adapted to your team and client group, or a bespoke course can be designed.
